To the horizon


A seagull gliding
On the sea -spray air,
Silently surveying
His wild kingdom.

Where
Beneath his arching wings
The white-foamed waves
Are sliding
In blue ruffles to the shore,

And
Into the wide horizon
Of his world of sea,
Beyond the reach of land,
I saw his free spirit flying
For eternity ...
